HI EVERYONE, JUST A WORD OR TWO TO UPDATE YOU ON LEAH'S SURGERY. THE SURGEON SAID SURGERY WENT GREAT......THE SPLITS WERE GOOD.....THE NERVE ON ONE SIDE WAS "OUT OF THE WAY" AND THE OTHER SIDE IT HAD TO BE MANIPULATED SLIGHTLY BUT WAS DEFINITELY INTACT. SHE WAS TOLD THAT SHE SHOULD REGAIN COMPLETE OR NEAR COMPLETE NERVE FUNCTION AFTER HEALING, WHICH HAD BEEN A BIG CONCERN TO LEAH. SHE HAD TO DEAL WITH NAUSEA FOR ABOUT 24 HOURS AFTER SURGERY BUT IS FEELING SOMEWHAT BETTER NOW. WHEN IT GETS A LITTLE MORE BACK TO NORMAL FOR HER, SHE WILL BE FILL IN MORE DETAILS FOR YOU. BUT FOR NOW SHE JUST WANTS YOU TO KNOW HOW MUCH YOUR SUPPORT AND GOOD WISHES MEAN TO HER. TAKE CARE, LEAH'S MOM

Leah,
Yeah, you did it! Glad to hear your nausea has improved. Thanks for updating us all. How wonderful to hear news about your excellent results.
Thanks to mum for updating!
Leah! The hard part is over! Congrats on getting through it and I'm glad you are feeling better. Can't wait for the next update!
Congratulations on seeing the other side!
Yay, LEAH! Sure good to hear that the surgery went well! Poop on the nausea and hope that's well behind you now :(
Take care of your self, girl. So good to hear your Mom's with you (thanks for posting mom!). You're in good hands. Lots a rest now, so you can give us the scoop. *hug* :)
First of all, thanks to Mom for posting!!!
It's so good to hear everything went so well, good for you!
Take care of yourself and get lots of rest.
Did the splint stay in? Are you wired?
Hopefully you'll be up to posting soon!
Congrats, you made it to the "other side!"
Hi Leah's Mom, Please tell Leah I hope she feels better. I was happy to hear everything turned out good for her. Tell her to get LOTS of rest (hard to do through the pain). Good luck through the recovery and take care.
Yay Leah! You did it! Now you only have one place to go and that is to get better and better each day. Can't wait to hear from you soon. Take care, and we're all here to support you!
Thanks to everyone for checking on me!
To Michelle:
I am not wired and not splinted! Although, the splint may have been comforting in some ways (stability), its much easier to suction (while in the hospital), and to somewhat rinse my mouth out without the splint it. Also, I can barely open my mouth wide enough to fit a straw in so far, so it must be even more difficult with a splint!
